6- THE GARDEN IN REVERSE

In this garden nothing is what it seems. When you enter there is no specific route to follow, you decide where to walk, there is no beginning or end, but what will you stumble upon? A tapestry of stones and flowers is the answer. You are going to walk on a river of stones, aimlessly, that mixes with a floor of flowers; these interrupt, grow and encroach on where the path should be, but they can also guide you and lead you to discover what the reverse garden hides…
Here are some clues to understanding this place. Here where the weather freezes and it rains upwards you will find four worlds, four scenes that are first four words, then four lines of words and then four stanzas of four lines, and then they are a poem…
The poetry materializes in four spaces that are hidden between walls. If you pay attention you can see through them or get inside them. The scenes have no order, you are the one who sees this garden, who has complete freedom to choose what this meaningless world is.
In this garden there is a dreamlike world, a world of the absurd, a senseless world… It is an ode to surrealism and to all the surrealist artists who gave us their work, especially René Magritte.

Our team consists of Manuel Amigo (Fuentesnuevas, 1999), graduated in Architecture from ETSAVA; Ane Txintxurreta (Urretxu, 1998) and Selva Vallverdú (Torelló, 1998), graduated in Architecture from ETSAB.
Originally from different places, we met in Lisbon during Erasmus in 2021 and later met as classmates in the Master’s degree in Architecture at ETSAM in 2023, where an academic project gave us the opportunity to participate in this festival.
For us it is an opportunity to bring our ideas to life and create something extraordinary together. With a combination of creativity, experience and friendship, we are excited to bring our imagination to life.
