1- Star Crossing

Edition 2024 – Garden 1

Both Van Gogh’s work “The Starry Night” and dance are taken as a reference for this project, from the point of view of an expression of art. The swirls that appear on the canvas are transformed into platforms for dancing and the short brushstrokes are used with vegetation in a range of blue and gold tones.
Thus, the design seeks to show the connection between human beings, nature and art.

The factors taken into account are:
• Soft lighting: Soft and warm lights are used to illuminate the garden, and hanging lights are placed to simulate the brightness of the stars in the sky.
• Nocturnal plants and flowers: Plants that give off their fragrance during the night, such as lilies, lavender and rosemary have been chosen. They add a touch of magic to the garden and highlight the night-time feeling so plant species have been chosen in a range of blue and gold tones.
• Fountains: They are incorporated into the design, creating a starry reflection effect that will be used as a platform for dancing.
• Curved paths: Meandering paths are created in the garden to mimic the sense of movement and fluidity present in “The Starry Night.” For this, small pieces of gravel and wood are used to outline the paths and add a rustic touch.
